It's the Happiest Day of the Year!
It's MLB Opening Day! The day of the year I stop all production for 6 months and am glued to the TV and Sportspages. Which reminds me I need to pick up some tickets to Fenway this year. Yay, Baseball's back!
I'm setting up the TV so I can lounge on my balcony and watch the Sox all summer.

Berny, Berny, Berny - You poor misguided individual - it's only a matter of time before the Coyotes with the Great One leading and Cujo minding our net that we will be holding Lord Stanley's Cup!
The Devil Rays let that Defector Boolin Wall escape to Chicago and now where are you?

Is that before or after the entire coaching staff bets on the team?Neffretiri wrote:Berny, Berny, Berny - You poor misguided individual - it's only a matter of time before the Coytoes with the Great One leading and Cujo minding our net that we will be holding Lord Stanley's Cup!

This Opening Day sucks for me. Hardcore. RSN, the only baseball carrier in Canada (aside from about 20 Jays games that TSN gets the rights to) didn't show the game last night. Upon going to their website to find out why, I discovered that they've also removed every non-Jays game from their schedule, which means no baseball today at all for me.
So, with baseball being one of the few things that would make me proactive enough to actually write a letter or something, I sent an e-mail. (A level-headed and polite one, believe it or not.) To their credit, I actually got a response.
Edit: Oh, and for the record, Damon is a dirty traitor, and GO CARDS!

So, unless RSN and MLB have worked out that contract in the last five minutes, I get no baseball today since the only game they had scheduled today in the first place was starting at 2.Hello Erik,
Thanks for your recent email. Unfortunately, we have removed all
non-Blue Jays and non-Mariners games from our broadcast schedule. The
reason for this is that we are still in the process of negotiating a
broadcast agreement with Major League Baseball. Once we have a signed
contract, the plan is to have our full Major League Baseball programming
up and running once again. Our apologies for any inconvenience that this
may cause.
Sincerely
James LaChapelle

He bet/she bet, in the end it was money that he earned that was wagered.Neffretiri wrote:Only the Mrs. bets dear, don't you read the papers? hehe Tocchet's been sent to purgatory so who knows if he'll ever be back - which is too bad really, cause he was a good coach - just a dumbass like Pete Rose.

You're actually a day late, yesterday was the first real game of the year. Today is just ceremony for the Reds and Tigers. Yeah, yeah I know you'll argue but oh well, you're wrong, yesterday was the best day of the year, even if it was just the White Sox and Indians.

I don't understand any of this thread, though it appears to concern that dumbed down version of cricket you all get so worked up about down there. However I must say that no one who would choose the NFL would be admitted to Canada -- Canadians not manly enough for rugby at least follow the CFL.Nerple wrote:It's not there, because we deport those people to Canada for being UnAmerican.goomba_boy wrote:Where's the fifth option?
*yawn* Wake me when the NFL pre-season starts.
I'm not cute, I'm just drawn that way.
