On a whim, i goto gamestop at 10 of 12 last night. theres 200 people there. i wait for 30 minutes to find out the store (and every gamestop) got 10 CE's. I leave purchasing nothing.

New plan, get up at 645, drive 1 minute to walmart. I get up, drive to walmart. dude knows why im there, "yea we got that!" oh cool , 1 CE please....oh we ordered 5, got none. Can you call hadley and find out if they got theirs? "they ordered, didnt get any as well" Now i already regret getting up so early.

On another whim, at 10 after 7, i head to hadley to tarshae. they open at 8, its only 720....
so i goto dunkin donuts, drive back and there no one in cars waiting, so im the only one there...eh good chance if they got any. so im having a smoke, listening to the radio....look up...there 8 people in front of the store. So im basicly pissed. We go in, "how many want the CE?" 5 people raise their hands. im behind them about 20 paces, but hear that they have 6! WHOO! yea, no. they only find 4. denied again. wheres your next closest store? "holyoke, at ingleside. want me to call see if they have any?" am i breathing? takes 5 minutes to get a hold of someone there. "yea they got 6 copies". (ive heard this somewhere before....) "want them to put one aside for you?" Duh...

So its a 15-20 minute ride of....will people show up there too and they wont hold it?? why the hell is this arse doing 45 on the highway!!??? are they gonna be out???

i walk in, no one is there. i get my game. thx buh bye. i stop for gas on the way home, and am installing now. and so far i lived happily ever after. Squid 4tw.

Wow what an adventure Ors. Congrats on getting it.

I'm currently at work. I ordered the CE from Amazon and according to Fedex it's currently out for delivery so it should be waiting when I get home.

I was the very first one when Target opened this morning -- although I was trailed by about four folks coming in after me -- but they had no CEs at all (I checked with the stocker after grabbing two regulars). I'll upgrade to CE in a few weeks or months, when more become available.

Much like our esteemed Thane, I was at Target at 8:00 AM this morning. And not a soul to be seen. Walked up to the electronics counter and proudly said "WoW, CE please - I'll take two".

The guy thinks for a minute and then says "What's the name of the band?"

/facepalm.

Launched into extensive but yet hurried tutorial on video games, MMO's and Wow.

"Oh, it's that game - I heard about that. It'll be out next week."

/facecounter

Launched into yet another hurried tutorial on the merits of checking the in-store ad flyer.

"Oh, OK. I think we have one of those."

Goes into the back, returns carrying a WotLK regular edition. Again, hurried tutorial on the differences between regular and CE.

"No, I didn't see that. Let me check inventory."

Several agonizing minutes later...

"Yep. We got it. It's called Wrath of the Lich King, Collectors Edition"

Restraining myself from beating him about the head and shoulders with one of the plasma TV's, I calmly asked him if he would be so kind as to grab two for me.

4 minutes later, I'm walking out with two CE's.

Ringo, you want this extra? I don't have it promised to anyone yet, and I couldn't bear the thought of you having to wait for months for another one to eke out.

I think Ringo already made arrangments via a friend. I'll nudge him to be sure.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you guys; I do indeed have a CE on the way.

What's the CE got that isn't in the original?

* DVD of the cinematic and making of the expansion.
* CD soundtrack, including three exclusive tracks.
* In-game frost wyrm whelp pet.
* Mousepad.
* Art of Wrath of the Lich King art book.

Some of these, like the art book, are sold seperately, but for more than the mark-up to the CE.

Oooh. I wants the the mousepad and the wyvern pet!

A couple of us still have extra CE editions, if you're interested. They also have some WoW card game cards in them - I haven't opened the ones in mine yet, but I'm guessing that there'll be a little trinket of some type in that as well

I ordered mine from GameStop around september and it arrived within a week of the release date.
It ended up costing me 20-30 bucks less than it would if I had ordered it from a Mexican store.

Go figure.
