You mean this macro?
/cast [target=focus,exists][target=pet,exists] Misdirection
It's been a while since I've looked, but I'm not sure [exists] implies [nodead]. Meaning that if you have a focus set, but they're dead, it will still try to cast Misdirect on them. Also, because my Hunter is fairly low level, I'm not sure what happens if you can misdirect on to a hostile mob. If you have a hostile mob set as focus, this macro may fail to fire.
I would use something a bit more like one of these;
/cast [target=focus,help,nodead][target=pet,nodead]Misdirection
This will cast Misdirection on your focus (if alive and friendly), or your pet (if alive).
/cast [target=focus,help,nodead][target=pet,nodead][]Misdirection
Cast order: Focus, pet, target
/cast [target=focus,help,nodead][target=target,help,nodead][target=pet,nodead]Misdirection
Cast order: Focus, target, pet
/cast [target=focus,help,nodead][target=targettarget,help,nodead][target=pet,nodead][]Misdirection
Cast order: Focus, target's target, pet, target.
Target's target would be useful to Misdirect onto the Off Tank when/if he picks up the boss without switching targets.
If you can switch focus easily, it's probably not a huge deal, but I would want a little more flexibility in my macro.
