Sawed Off

The effects sound on WoW went out for me today. Not certain what happened. It was working fine last night and this morning I can not hear my spell effects at all and other player's and NPC spell effects, combat, and music are really muted. I ran the repair tool with and without resetting and it was no help. Loading with or without addons loaded had no effect. The clue for me that this might not be WoW related is the log in screen has no sound for the undead dragon.

Not certain what else I can do at this point.

I am going to assume you tried other sounds, and ran Dxdiag on your sound driver? Not really sure what else to suggest, especially if other sounds work fine.
