Wilford Brimley
You are sadly mistaken on your choice of best movie ever. It ultimately comes down to a tie between Caddyshack and Blazing Saddles, both clearly the most quotable movies ever.

You lose sir, it's a choice between Caddyshack and Slapshot.

I must defer to Clou here, Blazing Saddles is the greatest piece of cinematic majesty to ever grace the silver screen.

Grosse Point Blank is the best movie ever.
I'm not cute, I'm just drawn that way.

Glad im not the only one who things Blazing Saddles is a waste of film. Caddyshack is on the list yes. Kill Bill, not so much. tho it is amusing. Pulp Fiction is a better Tanrantino flick. Resevior Dogs is too. Its all subject tho. My 3 favorite movies all happen to be baseball films. And if youre a dude, and Field of Dreams hasnt made you cry, youre a liar!

I watch a ton of baseball every year, in fact I am on my 3rd game of the day now and Field of Dreams has never made me cry. Though maybe it's because I am usually whispering to whoever I am watching with to "Go the Distance" or laughing at James Earl Jones being a reformed hippy.

Re: Wilford Brimley
It's ok, I know not everyone appreciates the same things. I just know it makes me laugh as much as any other movie, and that's what matters to me in a good comedy. Baseball movies are right up there with comedies, too. Bull Durham is still one of my all time favorites, and I do cry when I watch Field of Dreams, because it always makes me think of my dad. Go figure.Nerple wrote:Blazing Saddles is bloody awful.

Re: Wilford Brimley
I like Tin Cup more than Bull Durham, perhaps because I'm destined to live by myself in a trailer and have no career.
Re: Wilford Brimley
For combined sweetness , violence and insanity (always a popular combination)
may I submit that Brazil was one of the greatest.
(Mind you I have only watched it 25 times or so, so I may be missing something.)
And, as a traditionalist, Braveheart holds up well with re-viewing.
Add to Brasil's credits the stealth cameo of Robert de Niro as the Ninja AC Repairman
and you definitely have a contender.

Shut the fuck up Donny!Eremius wrote:Mildane wrote:Well yeah, it's a good purposeful show, and it did have its time. But best movie ever? That's hard to swallow with movies like Tombstone, Kill Bill, and now Iron Man. Those are some of the few on my list anyways. Though they could have been even better if Wilford Brimley had played Doc Holiday, Bill, and Iron Man. We can only imagine.
Let's not forget the greatest movie of all time, The Big Lebowski
Delyne the Blood Elf, Exalted with Orgrimmar at level 39
Kalena Gnome Rogue | Aeriana Human Paladin | Amorria Night Elf Huntress | Alanya Dwarf Priestess | Darianna Human Warlock | Iralora Draenei Shaman |
Variola Undead Mage | Cowbelle Tauren Shaman | Delyne Blood Elf Huntress| Meeria Troll Warrior
Re: Wilford Brimley
I agree that Bull Durham was a much better baseball movie than Field of Dreams.
But for my two favorite movies of all time, I submit these quotes:
"The greatest trick the devil ever played, was convincing the world he didn't exist"
""And Shepherds we shall be
For thee, my Lord, for thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand
Our feet may swiftly carry out Thy commands.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls shall it ever be.
In Nomeni Patri Et Fili Spiritus Sancti."

Dazed and Confused! Second best movie ever.

I am not allowed to quote Dazed and Confused anymore around some people because I won't stop until I've quoted most of the movie.
