Hey. I'm a bit late. I wanted to say though that I always felt I was in good company when seeing you guys in the WoW universe. Thanks for the good memories Pika and Piko.

Re: Can you upgrade integrated?
So, if you have an AMD motherboard then you can use Nvidia video cards, you just can't SLI, right?

I haven't even played the expansion yet, and that sounds upsetting. It's probably better just to go Holy, damn. That or go back to EQ!

Re: Soldering sucks!
Sorta kinda maybe not really. Since my work isn't guaranteed against fire or warrantied, it's ok to keep the clunker in the garage. Plus it's not my CRT, or my garage.

Re: Soldering sucks!
I couldn't desolder all of it so I just made it hot and pulled the capacitors out. Is that cheating? Anyways I don't know much about circuit boards either. I was just thinking about how much the CRT sucked to look at though, so I went in the garage and pulled out the broken LCD that had been sitting...

Re: Can you upgrade integrated?
From what I've been reading here...
http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnec ... ctors.html
it seems that I want a single 12v rail psu with no current limiter, that has all the right connections for my components, and delivers enough wattage to power everything. Sound about right?

Re: Can you upgrade integrated?
I've kind of been toying with building my own system on newegg. Just curious, how do you know what kind of power supply to get?

Soldering sucks!
I'm trying to replace the capacitors on my monitors circuit board, and it's just annoying! It's like the freakin iron wont get hot enough and when it does it's difficult to work the desoldering braid into there and keep the heat going. Can't stand it! I wonder if there's somewhere I can take it arou...

Re: Can you upgrade integrated?
I notice a lot of the video cards utilize different types of memory technology. If I'm going to upgrade on this mobo, would I need the card to be standard DDR or does it matter?

Newegg is all I have ever really used for online component shopping. Are there any other good, trustworthy sites out there?

Re: Can you upgrade integrated?
Yeah I noticed the nvidia cards in agp werent up to the same standards as ati on newegg. I'm thinking about just changing the motherboard too if I can get funding but I might be in over my head trying something like that. We'll see.

Re: Can you upgrade integrated?
So something like this would work better?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814102073
Now I have to make sure I can keep it cool and have enough power supply for it? There's no such thing as a cheap upgrade besides ram is there?

That doesn't sound too difficult. I guess another question would be - How do I know if a video card will work with my mobo?

Can you upgrade integrated?
I just installed Oblivion on my comp and my integrated card is insufficient to run it. Is there a way to upgrade those or do I just need a different computer? One day I'll have my very own real computer, one day.
