They're not sold out. Last year, tickets took three days to sell out, and they're selling 50 percent more tickets this time. It's just that the site is royally hosed.

Your reward for sticking it out (or trying again tomorrow) is the latest in nerdwear.

I was wrong. They have sold out. (This still feels like a technical snafu to me, personally.) The next wave of tickets goes on sale at 8 pm PST tonight, so get in there if you want them.

And again....it was a crapfest of blockages, frozen screens, stalls and then...
when the screen unfreezes...SOLD OUT. My "Shopping Cart" got ninja'ed.
There really are some ways to relieve some of this pressure but they won't
ask me (or any of you.) Too big a temptation to play "Steve Jobs" on stage
in that once-in-a-great-while display.

How is Blizzard like a three-day-old herring in the moonlight?

They manage to stink and glitter at the same time.

Meh! And thy can't even keep their servers up for 30 minutes! High tech!

And...for what it is worth...the FIRST availability of Nerdware
T-Shirts with the Guild tabard and name on it was at BlizzCon '07
when Sawed Off had custom images on their t-shirts.

These may be a bit more professional and colorful but they don't
get to claim first. Clearly they observed the Sawed Off crew at
last year's Con and decided to cash in on it. Hehe.

Well, after much frustration over repeated attempts at purchasing tickets somehow Travis got lucky and managed to get us some. (Please do not throw rotten vegetables at us.) :\

Tickets are purchased.

Flight and room reservations have been made through priceline for a pretty decent deal.

It's official, Lehla and I will be attending. We're also planning on spending Sunday visiting Mickey and friends at Disneyland. We'll be arriving Thursday and we'll be staying at the Extended Stay America Orange County. We were hoping to bring Gilmli along, but sadly, his wife was not cool with the cost so he can't come  .

I was really hoping for a big turn out of guildies, though it doesn't sound like many of you had much luck. It really sucks that Blizzard was so ill prepared, it seems, to put it gently. Alas, I look forward to seeing any and all who are able to make it!

Gnome luv,

Adi

That officially makes you the first people I know to actually get tickets.

No luck here either. :(

*sighs* No tickets here, either. :-(

We live like ...20 minutes from the stupid thing, and we can't even go.

sucks. :-p

Congrats to those of you that do get to go, though. :-)

You guys might be interested in this. It's an apology from Blizzard about the way BlizzCon tickets were handled, and he talks about a forthcoming lottery for 3,000 additional tickets.

Spaten -- 70 Dwarf Warrior on Crushridge
Tleki -- 30s Gnome Warrior on Silver Hand
Lamon -- 40s Orc Warlock on Silver Hand
(And a bunch of other considerably less than 70 alts all scattered about)

If they can let me go in for 2 tickets or 0, then I'll put in for the lottery and cross my fingers. And if they do it soon, cause the window for getting reasonable cost flights etc is closing.

Also, didn't Beli predict this last night after getting her new rocket mount? The crazy powers of dwarves.

I did get tickets, so I'll be there. I'm driving down and staying at the Mariott. So when we get close let's make a contact thread.

I forget where, but I read that they're doing the lottery for pairs of tickets, so that works for you. In fact, they made an announcement on the WoW community site's front page, this morning. That may be where I read it.

Check out the WoW front page. There's a news item there that instructs you on how to opt-in for the Blizzcon ticket lottery and how long you have to do it.

Grats Voca!! Truly happy for you. You will be our yes and ears.

Blizz sux!

This whole kerfuffle was sooooo badly handled, you have to wonder.
While a lottery (which I did NOT win, natch) was a gesture at least,
it was late, lame and doesn't make up for the butt-headed-ness of the
project's PP handling on the first go-around. That was pure stupid.
I would gladly act as a consultant for them to prevent future repeats
in exchange for ....oh, TWO FREAKIN' TICKETS!

Did I mention Blizz sux??

Now begins the planning for BlixxCon North '09 which will focus more
on sitting around a local Inn and quaffing ale whilst discussing the game.
(I will be quietly listening and making notes to bring my own playing standard
up into the barely acceptable range for a stalwart of Sawed Off.

At the parallel BixxCon North, we will collectively be sadly and drunkenly
acknowledging that Blizz sux!
